Most poker sites have points programs and many of them allow players to redeem those points for cash, but it seems only Sky Poker allows you to get paid for every point you earn (over a certain amount) each and every calendar month of the year.

In the Sky Poker Cash for Points program, you receive a monthly cash bonus for every Poker Point that you earn that month over and above 500 points. A simple Cash for Points display bar appearing on your Sky Poker home page will keep you always abreast of exactly how many points you’ve earned so far that month. You can also find your current calendar month’s points earnings by going into “My Account” and browse to the “Poker Points & League” area where you can do a “Poker Points Search”.

Players earn poker points whenever they play at Sky Poker’s real money cash games or tournaments. In addition, the site often holds special Happy Hours during which bonus points are awarded at the cash game tables. (More on Sky Poker’s Happy Hours in a moment.) At cash games, points are awarded only on hands from which a rake is taken. As for tournaments, points are awarded at all MTTs (multi-table tournaments), STTs (single table tournaments), and Sit ‘n’ Go tournaments, according to the amount of the fee paid as part of the tournament buy-in.

To join the Sky Poker Cash for Points promo click onto your “My Account” button and browse to the “Free Bets” section. Then enter in the code: POINTS. You only need to do this once to be permanently opted in to Sky Poker’s Cash for Points promotion as long as the monthly promotion is running.

Players can earn unlimited cash bonuses by accumulating over 10,000 points. That grants you entry into Sky Poker’s exclusive Priority Club which pays out on the 5th business day of each month (with exceptions for weekends). Membership in the Priority Club earns you more pence per point that you earn. And if you retain your Priority Club membership for 3 months or more (by continuing to earn at least 10,000 points per month) then your pence per point rate is even more advantageous.

For example, regular players get 2.6p per point for 10,000 to 11,999 points while Priority Club members get 2.8p per point and Priority Club members for 3 months or more get 3.1p per point. At 10,000 points that’s £260 for regular players, £280 for Priority Club members, and £310 for long-standing Priority Club members.

At 50,000 points or more, regular players get 4.2p per point, Priority Club members get 6.0p per point, and “long standing” Priority Club members get 6.5p per point. At 50,000 points that’s £2100 for regular players, £3000 for Priority Club members, and £3250 for long-standing members.

As for Sky Poker’s Happy Hours, this is when players can really rake in the points. Sky Poker holds 3 Happy Hour sessions daily: 1 pm to 2 pm (Lunchtime Happy Hour), 6 pm to 7 pm (Evening Happy Hour), and 11 pm tp 12 am (Late Night Happy Hour). During these times, Sky Poker awards more points per pence at a rate that improves the higher the stakes you play, up to a 50% increase over the standard rates for playing at any tables with stakes of 2p/4p and higher.

And whether it’s during a Happy Hour or not, players get even more points for playing at Action Tables than at Regular Tables. Points that players can then convert into cash bonuses on a monthly basis with the Sky Poker promotion: Cash for Points.
