With the European domestic football season kicking off in various countries over the past few weekends, it is a prime time for betting. Especially for many bettors who like to place their wagers on which team they believe will win the league or division they follow closely. These bets are among the most popular throughout the season, often remaining undecided until the final moments of the campaign.
However, if you place a bet with bet365 Sport on the To Win Outright market across seven different league competitions, four in England, plus the top divisions of Spain, Italy and Germany, then you could be in line for a nice early payout if your team can go ten points or more clear at the top of the table thanks to bet365’s new League Winner Early Payout Offer.

Get your bets paid out early if the team you back takes a lead of 10 points or more in their league with bet365.
Applies to bets on the To Win Outright market on selected leagues up to and including the 15th October 2020. Bet restrictions and T&Cs apply. New and eligible customers only.
To access this offer you just need to place a bet on a team in the To Win Outright market for any of the following domestic league competitions for the 2020/21 season:
Once you have placed your bet, if the team you have selected in the leagues above then goes ten points or more ahead at any point of the season, bet365 will then pay out your bet as a winner at that point, rather than waiting until the end of the season, or the date at which the team is confirmed as champions.
Even if the team takes a 10-point lead and then does not go on to win the league, you will not have to pay back the winnings as your bet will still be paid as a winner.
This betting offer proved to be very productive last season for those that backed Liverpool to win the Premier League as those bets were paid out on the 14th December 2019 when the Reds took a 10-point lead in the title race.
Unfortunately, bet365 is not available everywhere in the world for punters to enjoy the offer, but if you are based in the United States, you do have some other soccer-based bets and bonuses potentially available to you with other services. In Pennsylvania for example, there is a great offer for new customers at PokerStars, which includes a sportsbook service, which you can access with the latest PokerStars PA Bonus Code.
There is a rather amusing tale behind how early payout bets became popular in the United Kingdom. Back in 1998, bookmaker owner Fred Done, an ardent Manchester United fan, believed his team’s lead was enough to guarantee them the league title, so he paid out all punters that had backed United with his company, costing him £500,000.
However, over the rest of the season United were hauled in and eventually passed by Arsenal, which proved to be a costly misjudgement by Mr Done as he then also had to pay out on Arsenal winning the league too.
Undeterred he also paid out early on Manchester United in 2012, but once again his judgement proved flawed as Manchester United lost out to rivals Manchester City on the final day.
Last week, we took a detailed look at who we think would win the Premier League in England and in that article we backed Manchester City to be the team that came out on top. City did not play at the weekend as their season start was delayed a week due to them finishing last season later than other teams due to their involvement in the latter stages of the Champions League. However, they will begin their Premier League season next weekend.
Will backing City offer an Early Payout? – Doubtful but you never know. Liverpool opened up a 10-point lead in extraordinary circumstances last season in December but given how well matched City and Liverpool look this season, I think you may have to wait until later in the season for any bets on the winner of the EPL to be paid out.
The Championship can have runaway winners and has in the past, but most seasons it is a pretty tight affair and looking at the teams in it this season, I think that will be the case here. There’s lots of contenders to win the title, but I think Bournemouth are a great value bet at 10/1 and could bounce back well after their relegation last season.
Will backing Bournemouth offer an Early Payout? – It could do but I think it is unlikely, because the level of competition in the Championship is so hard that it is rare for any team to waltz through the fixture list and open up a big lead.
League One does have a real mix of teams and the gap between top and bottom is perhaps wider in this division than any other outside of the Premier League. Sunderland are my pick here and they are also bet365’s as favourites to land the title at 13/2.
Will backing Sunderland offer an Early Payout? – Sunderland have the quality to open up a lead in this division if they can get going, but they haven’t showed much likelihood of that happening over the last few years, so I feel that this is not likely to be a bet that is settled early.
League Two is always a hugely competitive division and there are a lot of teams that will feel they are in with a chance of winning this league. For me though, Cheltenham at 14/1 are the pick of those teams at the moment.
Will backing Cheltenham offer an Early Payout? – Not likely, League Two is perhaps the most evenly contested division from top to bottom and it is rare that any team opens up a big lead at the top of the table.
It is hard to look past the current Bundesliga and European Champions Bayern Munich for this seasons Bundesliga. Dortmund and Red Bull will push them, but Munich have so much quality and the arrival of Leroy Sane only adds to that. However, at odds of 1/7 to win the title, it is not really a great value bet for most punters.
Will backing Bayern lead to an Early Payout? – I think there is a good chance this will happen. Dortmund and Red Bull Leipzig will run them close early in the season, but Bayern look so strong that I feel they could open up a 10-point gap by January or February next season.
Juventus have owned this title over the last few years, but I do feel their ageing squad is on the wane and their preoccupation with the Champions League could allow a team like Inter Milan in. Juventus are the smart money bet for many, but I think this could well be Inter’s time and at 15/8 they are a better value option to.
Will backing Inter lead to an Early Payout? – I don’t think so. Juventus, Lazio, Atalanta and even AC Milan could well be in the reckoning in Serie A this season and as such, I think it will be a relatively close season.
La Liga is usually a race between Barcelona and Real Madrid for the title with Atletico dropping off the pace in recent seasons. With all the confusion and changes at Barcelona, I think a more settled Real Madrid side (4/5) will be the team to beat in Spain this year.
Will backing Real Madrid lead to an Early Payout? – There’s a chance but there would need to be huge problems at Barcelona for that to be the case and in truth, even with a new manager, I can’t see that happening at the Nou Camp. Real should win the league but I can’t see them opening up the required gap to trigger an early payout.
