England World Cup 2026 archive: results, squad and betting markets

England finished third at the 2026 World Cup. This archive completes the fixture list from our July article and keeps the qualification, squad and betting-market questions raised in the earlier England guide. There are no remaining 2026 World Cup fixtures or current prices for this finished tournament.

Every England World Cup result, with UK dates and times

The table follows the FA’s fixtures and results. Dates and kick-off times are British Summer Time (BST), not the stadium’s local time. The Mexico match therefore appears on 6 July at 02:00 in the UK. The home-listed team is first; “after extra time” distinguishes the quarter-final from a 90-minute result.

England won Group L with seven points: two wins and a draw, six goals scored and two conceded. The semi-final defeat ended the route to the final; the France match decided third place, not the trophy.

Qualification: eight wins and no goals conceded

UEFA’s England profile records eight wins, 22 goals scored and none conceded in qualifying Group K. Kane scored eight of those goals. The eight results below are qualifiers, not matches from the finals.

The final UEFA Group K standings put England first with 24 points. P means played, W won, D drawn, L lost, GF goals for and GA goals against.

That record supported the original guide’s optimism about England’s defensive organisation and scoring options. It did not establish that England would win a finals group or reach the final. Qualifying opponents and knockout opponents are not interchangeable.

The final 26-player squad, not the March shortlist

The FA’s squad announcement confirms a 26-player selection under Thomas Tuchel, captained by Harry Kane. The earlier guide’s reference to a 23-player final squad was wrong. The list below accounts for the subsequent replacement rather than counting both players.

The FA’s June squad update confirms Trevoh Chalobah replaced the injured Tino Livramento. Livramento is therefore not an additional member of the final 26 in this table. Club names have been omitted: this is a national-squad record, not a current transfer directory.

The March article debated right-back options, centre-back balance and how many attacking players Tuchel could select. Those were questions before the announcement, not confirmed places or starting roles. Reece James, Djed Spence and Nico O’Reilly made the final group, as did Stones, Guéhi, Konsa, Quansah and Burn. The shortlist also discussed players who did not make this squad, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben White, Fikayo Tomori, Harry Maguire, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden.

Selection and match participation remain different questions. Being in the 26 does not mean starting every game, taking every penalty or appearing for a full 90 minutes. The original injury speculation is not retained as a current fitness report.

What the old England betting markets asked

England won their group but did not reach the final or win the tournament. Those are separate outcomes. The earlier guide described reaching the final as a preferred angle; its forecast did not come true. Calling another market “safer”, “reliable” or good value was not evidence of its true probability or of a successful customer bet.

The old Kane team-top-scorer discussion and the tournament-top-scorer discussion had different fields of competitors. This archive does not supply an unsupported settlement for either market. The exact competition, counting period, tie treatment and accepted rules matter when checking an old selection.

Croatia match betting and the two builder examples

England beat Croatia 4–2 in the opening match. The original preview discussed a cautious opener, a draw and Croatia as an outsider. A completed score can be placed beside those opinions, but cannot prove that any quoted price was available when a reader placed a bet.

The guide’s first hypothetical combination was England to win, Kane to score and over 2.5 goals. The second combined an England win, both teams to score and over 8.5 corners. These remain examples of conditions, not recommended bets or verified available builders. The final score alone cannot establish a named scorer or the corner count.

There is no preserved, reproducible timestamp for the old bet365 prices and boost. They have been removed instead of being presented as live odds. No winning bet, accepted stake or account payout is claimed.
