Fancy taking a swing at golf betting? Well we’ve got the skinny on some of the most popular types of golf bets out there.
So no more looking at online betting slips in confusion. You’ll know exactly where you stand after figuring out these key golf bets and exactly how you can use them.
Well this is a tricky one to answer. There are an absolute tonne of golf bets you can find, depending on what online sportsbook you opt for. We’re going to take you through some of the most frequently spotted ones, so you’ll be well in the know when you see them.
Well before you bet on any sport, we think it’s crucial that you actually have a decent understanding of it. Knowing the rules and regulations should be your starting point. Then you should do a little homework on the different types of courses and the key players too. Once you know that, you’re going to be in a much better place to make a smarter wager.
There are a huge range of places you can place golf bets depending on your jurisdiction, both online and offline. But of course here at bonuscodepoker, we’re always going to focus on the online world.
One of our favourite places to bet on golf is bet365 (if you haven’t signed up yet, here’s a bonus code bet365). And all of the golf bets you’ll see in our FAQs can be found there. But of course, they’re not the only show in town. We’d also recommend checking out 888 and William Hill, if you want to see how those sites differ.
To win outright has got to be one of the most straightforward of all golf bets. It simply means you’re picking the player you think is going to win the event.
This is another one that should be relatively easy to wrap your head around. For this, you’re punting on a particular competitor finishing in the top 2, 3, 4, 30 and 40.
And there’s actually also a little twist for the eagle-eyed. You can usually also find “top finishes (including ties)” golf bets. These ones do, of course, include players in tied positions. And the other thing to note is that it’s usually for the top 5, 10 or 20 players.
This is definitely a little interesting. With these golf bets, you can select a group of players (usually three) and then a particular outcome. For example, it could be round winner, current hole winner or next hole winner.
Then if any of the players in your group triumphs, you get paid out. It’s kind of like placing three bets in one.
Round golf bets are simply betting on if someone will finish in a particular place in a particular round. This is usually top 5 or top 10.
Now to understand this, you’ve got to know a little bit about how PGA tour events play out. So in the first and second rounds, it’s common for players to go off in threesomes (get your mind out of the gutter, not that type of threesome). Anyway, a 3-ball bet is you predicting who out of those three players will score the most during that particular round.
Each way extra betting in golf increases the number of places that will pay out if your player places in the top 3 to 12 finishers. A great option if you want a little more flexibility in your betting.
These are simply predicting if your players are going to avoid elimination during the final two rounds of a tournament. And your options for to make cut bets are always binary. You just need to predict if they will or won’t do it.
