Let’s now take a look at the game coming up on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (all 8pm kick off) in the Champions League this week.

Champions League Fixtures & Tips

Tuesday 9th March

  • Borussia Dortmund (3) v (2) Sevilla

Dortmund showed their mettle in Spain to come away with a solid 3-2 win but this tie is far from over. Sevilla are a team that are better set up to play on the counter attack and Dortmund have not been the most consistent of teams this season. I think this game will see both teams find the net but I just feel that Dortmund will do just enough to grab the win here. – Bet – Dortmund to win (6/5).

  • Juventus (1) v (2) FC Porto

I was surprised Juventus were beaten in the first leg of this tie but I think that is symptomatic of a team that is now past its best. Still, at home against FC Porto, I would expect them to land the win. Whether that is enough for them to go through remains to be seen but I still feel that the Italian champions will do just enough. – Bet – Juventus to win (2/5).

Wednesday 10th March

  • Liverpool (2) v (0) Red Bull Leipzig

Two defensive lapses handed Liverpool two goals in the first leg of this tie. The second leg will be played at the same venue (Puskas Stadium in Budapest) but I think there will be a different outcome this time around. I feel the Reds will be more cautious and hit on the counter while Leipzig need to push the pace. In the end I think a draw will be the outcome with Liverpool progressing. – Bet – Draw (5/2).

  • Paris St Germain (4) v (1) Barcelona

A stunning performance from Paris St Germain in the first leg of this tie has made the second leg almost a formality. Barcelona will want to show they are not as bad as that first leg result suggests but I feel PSG at home is a massive ask for the Catalan side to earn a win. As such, I think another win for the home team is on the cards. – Bet – Paris St Germain to win (21/20).

Let’s now turn our attention to the Europa League, which is now at the Round of 16 First Leg stage. The first four games kick off at 5.55pm, with the second four games listed below all 8pm kick offs.

Europa League Fixtures & Tips

Thursday 11th March

We are at the first leg stage of the Round of 16 in the Europa League, the second leg ties of which will be played next week. This ensures that both competitions are at the quarterfinal stage when we have the next set of fixtures in early March.

  • Ajax v Young Boys

Ajax are the big name in this game but Young Boys have had some notable successes in recent years over some big opponents. That said, the Dutch side do have some excellent players and their form in this competition, especially beating Lille in the last round, is excellent. This will be much closer than the bookies odds suggest but I am backing Ajax to win this one. – Bet – Ajax to win (3/5).

  • Dynamo Kyiv v Villarreal

Dynamo Kyiv are not the team that they once were, when they were arguably one of the best in Europe in the 1980s and 90s. Villarreal are doing well in La Liga this season and they have progressed well in this competition too. I think the Spanish team will earn themselves a share of the spoils here aiming to get the job done on home soil. – Bet – Draw (5/2).

  • Manchester United v AC Milan

Arguably the two biggest teams left in this competition meet at the Round of 16 stage. United come into the game on the back of a superb 2-0 win over Manchester City at the weekend, whereas Milan’s form domestically has been a little underwhelming of late. Even so, I still think Milan have enough talent to get a result here to make the second leg interesting. – Bet – Draw – 11/4.

  • Slavia Prague v Rangers

After defeating Leicester in the last round, Slavia Prague face more British opposition here in the newly crowned Scottish Premier League Champions Rangers. Steven Gerrard’s side are unbeaten away from home in Europe this season and I think they will avoid defeat here too. Slavia though are a good side and there will still be plenty to play for in the second leg. – Bet – Draw – 5/2.

  • Granada v Molde

Perhaps the weakest team left in the competition, Molde surprised a few by beating Hoffenheim in the last round, but they will find Granada, who are 10th in La Liga, a much tougher prospect. The Spanish side have been one of the more consistent teams in the Europa League this season and they should record a solid win here. – Bet – Granada to win (2/5).

  • Olympiakos v Arsenal

Last season Olympiakos reversed a 1-0 home loss to Arsenal to beat the Gunners 2-1 in London to knock them out of this competition. Arsenal will be itching for revenge for that loss and it is interesting to note that they have won on their last two trips to Greece, but lost their home ties. I think that sequence will continue here too with the Gunners a good selection. – Bet – Arsenal to win (10/11).

  • AS Roma v Shakhtar Donetsk

Along with the United v Milan match, I think this is the most even contest in the Round of 16 and it is hard to pick a winner. Shakhtar have beaten Real Madrid twice this season and while Roma are a strong side, their form has been up and down both in Europe and domestically this season. That said, I am still backing the Italian side to claim the first leg advantage. – Bet – AS Roma to win (11/20).

  • Tottenham v Dinamo Zagreb

Dinamo Zagreb don’t have too many happy recent memories of trips to the UK, having lost all of their last three visits quite heavily. With Spurs in great form at the moment, especially after their fine 4-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend, I think the English side will take a big step towards the quarterfinals with a big win here. – Bet – Tottenham to win (2/5).
