Six Plus Hold’em at bet365: UK rules and table checks

Check bet365’s UK Six Plus hand order, practise short-deck comparisons and review positions, stack assumptions and live-software limits before using a tactic.

Six Plus Hold’em uses a shorter deck, but the name alone does not tell you which hand wins. For bet365’s UK version, use its own rules rather than a chart from another poker room. This guide explains the rule differences and what to check in a table listing; it does not confirm which tables currently have seats.

The reduced deck and bet365’s hand order

The Six Plus section of bet365’s UK standard game rules removes every two, three, four and five. That leaves 36 cards, with six the lowest ordinary rank. The game otherwise follows its Texas Hold’em structure, subject to the changed hand hierarchy.

In descending order, bet365 lists royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, flush, full house, three of a kind, straight, two pair, one pair and high card. The two differences to remember are that a flush beats a full house, and three of a kind beats a straight.

An ace can complete A–6–7–8–9, the weakest straight in these rules. The strongest runs 10–J–Q–K–A. Removing low cards does not make a pair automatically beat the categories above it.

Why another short-deck chart can give the wrong answer

PokerStars’ published 6+ rules also put a flush above a full house, but retain the ordinary order for the other categories. Its straight therefore beats three of a kind. It also describes an ante and button-blind structure. Do not import that structure or ranking into bet365’s UK game.

“Short deck” is a description, not proof that two games have identical rules. If a guide groups Six Plus and other reduced-deck games together, check the actual operator’s rules before using its examples. This page does not establish a common origin or equate every such game with Manila poker.

Two examples to practise away from a table

Suppose one completed five-card hand is 8♣–8♦–8♥–K♠–Q♦ and the other is 6♠–7♦–8♠–9♣–10♥. The first is three of a kind; the second is a straight. Under the bet365 UK order above, the three eights win. This is an original ranking example, not a record of a played hand or advice about a bet.

For another hypothetical comparison, A♥–K♥–Q♥–9♥–7♥ is a flush, while J♣–J♦–J♠–6♥–6♣ is a full house. The flush wins in bet365’s stated Six Plus hierarchy. All the example cards belong to the reduced deck; neither comparison calculates the likelihood of drawing a hand.

What to check before relying on a table listing

Read the game name and its linked rules, then check the displayed currency, blinds or antes, buy-in limits, seat count and any fees. A rules page describes the game; it does not establish occupied tables, current stakes or a particular client tab. Do not rely on an old screenshot to locate a game.

This article originally covered bet365’s 2016 table options. Its old euro stakes, buy-ins and claims about unavailable tournament formats are not a current catalogue. If the lobby does not show the game, check with operator support rather than depositing to test an assumption.

BCP’s cash-game and tournament comparison explains why entry rules and chip values matter. For a different variant, the Omaha guide covers its two-private-card requirement. Neither replaces the rules for the specific table you are reading. There is no need to move to real-money play to practise the examples here.

Six Plus study checks before applying a tactic

Start with the actual hand order. A standard Hold’em chart can misclassify the winning hand here, and a different short-deck chart can still put a straight in the wrong place. Practise ranking completed hands before considering an action; a strong-looking starting hand does not remove the need to read the board.

Record the number of players still in the hand and the order of action. Acting after another player lets you see that action, not their hidden cards. Late position is not an instruction to raise every hand, and a label such as “loose” does not prove that an opponent will fold or is easy to exploit.

Check the effective stacks, pot, permitted bet sizes and fees before borrowing a study example. A short stack is not a reason to push all your remaining money into the middle. The reduced deck also does not supply a universal bluffing frequency: the betting history and the possible hands still matter.

Use saved hands or paper comparisons away from ongoing play. Mark missing information rather than assigning an opponent a convenient hand. The UK rules prohibit software that automates or assists live play. No extra deposit, longer session or move up in stakes is necessary to understand the rule differences.
