As we head towards the weekend, we have another set of great Premier League games taking place from Saturday lunchtime through to Monday Night.

This weekend sees a couple of massive games too including Manchester City hosting Newcastle United as second place takes on fifth place from the EPL table and we also have a 3rd v 6th place battle coming up at Anfield where Liverpool will attempt to close the gap on their great rivals Manchester United.

At the foot of the table there are also some key games to watch out for including Southampton facing Leicester, while Everton face a trick trip to Nottingham Forest in what should be a very intriguing game.

So before we take a look ahead to the current weekend’s matches, let’s quickly recap how things went last week in the Premier League.

Last Week’s Premier League Results

Friday 24th February

  • Fulham 1-1 Wolves

Saturday 25th February

  • Everton 0-2 Aston Villa
  • Leicester City 0-1 Arsenal
  • West Ham 4-0 Nottingham Forest
  • Leeds United 1-0 Southampton
  • Bournemouth 1-4 Manchester City
  • Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool

Sunday 26th February

  • Tottenham Hotspurs 2-0 Chelsea

Wednesday 1st March

  • Arsenal 4-0 Everton
  • Liverpool 2-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Arsenal now lead the Premier League by five points over Manchester City with both having played 25 games. Liverpool have moved up to sixth in the Premier League after picking up four points in the week.

Everton, Bournemouth and Southampton are the three teams currently occupying the relegation spots.

Let’s now check on this weekend’s fixtures and give you a preview, as well as our top tip for each.

Premier League Fixtures

Saturday 4th March

Manchester City v Newcastle United (12.30pm)

With Arsenal’s win over Everton in midweek extending their lead to five points, City know that they cannot afford to drop further behind the Gunners so this is going to be a tricky game against a Newcastle United side that have only lost to Liverpool in the EPL this season. The teams drew 3-3 in a hugely entertaining game at St James’ Park earlier in the season and while I can’t quite see that number of goals here, I do feel both will score, although City will land the win.

Our Top Tip – Man City to win and both teams to score – 11/5

Arsenal v Bournemouth

A fantastic and morale-boosting 4-0 win over Everton in midweek saw Arsenal move five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and they have an outstanding chance to at least maintain that gap in this home game against relegation threatened Bournemouth. The Cherries have hardly looked like winning a game recently, so the only result I can see here is another Arsenal win but a better value bet may well come in the anytime goalscorer market.

Our Top Tip – Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) to score anytime – 13/8

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

Villa earned a fine 2-0 win at Everton last weekend, while Palace held Liverpool in what was a dour goalless draw on Saturday night. The Eagles look solid defensively but it is evident that they have real issues scoring goals and that could be a problem here as I think Villa’s attack is very bright and they certainly have more than enough quality to score at least once here and if they can do that, then I think they will win the game.

Our Top Tip – Aston Villa to win and both teams to score – no – 9/4.

Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United

Can Brighton continue their excellent campaign thus far, or can West Ham build on their 4-0 win last weekend to continue their move away from the drop zone? That’s a good question and one which, when you look at the form of both teams this season, seems to point to a Brighton victory. Inconsistency has dogged the Hammers this season but I have a feeling that they could spring a surprise here and perhaps pick up an unexpected but very welcome three points.

Our Top Tip – West Ham to win – 7/2

Chelsea v Leeds United

Poor Graham Potter is under incredible pressure already at Chelsea and I have to say that I don’t think it is his fault. Todd Boehly’s scattergun approach to signing players has left Potter with a squad that barely knows each other, let alone has its own identity, style of play and team spirit. As such, Chelsea are struggling and I think Leeds can capitalise here on Chelsea’s lack of form and perhaps pick up an unexpected point from this game.

Our Top Tip – Draw – 3/1

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspurs

After losing 2-0 at Anfield in the week, Wolves know that they need to start picking up points to continue their move away from the relegation zone, but they face a Spurs side that have won three of their last four away games and who, over the last five games, have won more than any other Premier league team (four). As such, this could be a tough and low scoring game between two sides solid defensively and if it is, I expect Spurs to land the win.

Our Top Tip – Tottenham to win 1-0 – 7/1

Southampton v Leicester City (5.30pm)

Two teams very much in the relegation battle although Southampton’s need for points is much greater than Leicester’s at the moment, the problem is Southampton’s home record in the Premier League this season is absolutely dreadful, and Leicester’s form, while not perfect, is looking much more like you would expect from them. As such, I think that the Foxes will end up picking up another valuable three points here.

Our Top Tip – Leicester to win – 8/5.

Sunday 5th March

Nottingham Forest v Everton (2pm)

Everton dropped into the relegation zone last weekend and a 4-0 defeat at Arsenal has compounded that position meaning Sean Dyche’s men badly need to start picking up points. A trip to Nottingham Forest could potentially offer them that but in truth, Forest’s recent form is much better than Everton’s and they look especially tough to beat at home. That doesn’t bode well for Everton here who have struggled on the road this season.

Our Top Tip – Nottingham Forest to win – 17/10

Liverpool v Manchester United (4.30pm)

The biggest game of the weekend sees the two north west rivals Liverpool and Manchester United lock horns at Anfield. The Reds have struggled this season compared to last season when they pushed hard on four fronts. Instead it is United doing that this season and after winning the Carabao Cup last weekend, they should be confident here. Liverpool have lost just one at home though and so I think this will finish as a draw.

Our Top Tip – Draw – 13/5

Monday 6th March

Brentford v Fulham (8pm)

The final game of the weekend sees the two London teams doing unexpectedly well in the EPL this season clash. Brentford have been excellent at home this season, especially under the floodlights, while Fulham are in great form at the moment and richly deserve their 7th place in the table. This will be a close one and I can see goals at both ends but I think the most likely outcome is a win for the home side.

Our Top Tip – Brentford to win 2-1 -= 17/2
