The UEFA Champions League rarely lacks heavyweight contenders, but the 2026/27 edition looks particularly difficult to call.
Paris Saint-Germain enter the competition chasing a remarkable third successive European title. Real Madrid have Jose Mourinho back in the dugout. Arsenal are trying to turn consecutive trips to the final into a first Champions League trophy, while Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all begin with realistic ambitions of reaching Madrid next June.
The league-phase draw has added another layer of intrigue, producing heavyweight meetings from the outset and giving several of the leading contenders demanding schedules.
Against that backdrop, the early betting market is unusually compact.
PSG are 5/1 favourites with bet365, but there is no overwhelming market leader. Arsenal and Barcelona are immediately behind at 6/1, while several other European heavyweights remain within touching distance.

Perhaps the most interesting early betting story, however, isn't at the top of the odds.

There is a clear leading group, but no runaway favourite.
