The Premier League now has just 10 official game weeks left to play through as we reach Game Week 27. Admittedly, most teams do have to play at least one, if not more, games in hand to catch up, but we are reaching the final third of the season when every result matters that bit more.
This week sees a high number of interesting games where the top half teams take on teams in the relegation battle, so there will be plenty at stake in those games, either for teams chasing the title or a European spot, or if you are involved in the battle to avoid the drop.

The eye-catching result was Liverpool’s 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Anfield which saw the Reds hit their best form of the season while United were humbled in a fashion that nobody expected.
Those results don’t see any change at the top, but the big movers were Liverpool who moved into the top five and have now won four of their last five EPL games and are unbeaten in those games. The Reds are also just three points behind Tottenham but with a game in hand and a better goal difference than the Reds.
That leads us nicely onto the next set of fixtures in the Premier League for Matchday 27 which we have previewed below.
After last week’s sensational and unexpected 7-0 victory over Manchester United at Anfield we finally saw something like the Liverpool team that went close to winning four Major trophies last year. That\s not great news for a Bournemouth team who know what it is like to be on the end of a thrashing at Anfield, having lost 9-0 there earlier this season. I’m not convinced the visitors are really back to their very best here, hence I am playing it safe somewhat and going for Mo Salah to score anytime.
Our Tip – Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) to score anytime – 6/5
Sean Dyche has started to pick up points with Everton but unfortunately for him, it seems difficult for the Toffees to string a run of results together to move themselves away from the drop zone. Brentford are a team that generally does better at home rather than on the rosd, but rather like Aston Villa a couple of weeks back, I think the Bees measure up well against Everton here and should have enough to secure a point.
Our Tip – Draw – 9/4
I have to admit I am not sold on Javi Gracia as the new Leeds manager. His spell at Watford was underwhelming and while he has moved the Yorkshire side out of the relegation zone, I am not convinced they will stay there. In contrast, Roberto De Zerbi has continued the excellent work started at Brighton by Graham Potter and the Seagulls have a great chance of landing European Football of some sort next season and they should get three points towards that goal here.
Our Tip – Brighton to win and both teams to score – 3/1
Chelsea have found a bit of form with two wins in a row, while Leicester have lost their last three, so you would think Chelsea would be the team to back here. I am not so sure. The Foxes have some excellent players who tend to play better against the stronger sides and Chelsea’s form this season suggests that consistency is an issue for them. I know form is leaning towards a Chelsea win here, but I have a feeling the Foxes may cause an upset.
Our Tip – Leicester to win – 11/4
Does any team and manager look as disconnected as Antonio Conte and Spurs at the moment? Out of the Champions League and now with players seemingly pleading with Mauricio Pochettino to come back and Conte seemingly more than willing to walk away at the end of the season, it’s going to be a tough few months for Spurs. That said, the quality of players that they have means that I would still expect them to get a result against Forest here.
Our Tip – Tottenham to win and both teams to score – 12/5
Crystal Palace now face a Manchester City team that is desperate to keep winning games to maintain the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table. The Eagles form hasn’t been great of late and there’s no doubt that this team is much weaker when Wilf Zaha doesn’t play. You can’t really say that about any City player as their squad is so strong, so I am backing the visitors to land another solid win here by a 3-1 scoreline.
Our Tip – Manchester City to win 3-1 – 12/1
The only clash between two teams in the top half this weekend sees Arsenal make the short trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in a key London derby. Fulham’s superb season sees them lie 7th in the table and they have lost just one of their last five games, the same as Arsenal. However, the Gunners spirit shone through against Bournemouth last week and I think they’ll edge a tight game here by the odd goal in three.
Our Tip – Arsenal to win and both teams to score – 12/5
After last weeks thrashing at Liverpool, United bounced back well in midweek to record a 4-1 win over Real Betis in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie. That sets them up nicely for a home game here against the Premier League’s bottom club and I think the players will be looking for the same kind of result and performance that they showed against Betis. Marcus Rashford is in brilliant form at the moment and I can see him getting a couple of goals here.
Our Tip – Marcus Rashford (Man Utd) to score 2 or more goals – 5/1
It’s hard to fathom what has happened to West Ham this season. After looking a European quality team last year, they have fallen massively off the pace in the EPL. They have struggled to score goals and are conceding far too many. Villa have had a better year but they too are inconsistent and despite winning their last two games, I think at home West Ham should have a good chance of landing the win.
Our Tip – West Ham to win – 6/5
Newcastle’s recent form has nosedived badly in the last month or so and Wolves will feel that they have a chance of getting something here, especially in a fixture which has a record of producing 1-1 draws in recent times. That said, I think Newcastle are really overdue a good performance especially in front of their home fans, but at the moment I just don’t see that happening. As such, I think a nervy 1-1 draw is the likely outcome here.
