I Am Maximus won the 2026 Grand National. Read the sourced race archive, course explanation and checks for old each-way slips; no expired odds or offers presented as current.

The 2026 Grand National has finished. I Am Maximus won at Aintree on 11 April, with Paul Townend riding for Willie Mullins. This page now serves as a dated race archive: the result, the course and how to read an old betting slip. It does not advertise a still-open 2026 race market or repeat unverified preview prices and offers.
The Jockey Club’s official 2026 results list I Am Maximus first, Iroko second and Jordans third. Iroko’s jockey was Jonjo O’Neill Jr, for trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero; Ben Jones rode Jordans for Joseph Patrick O’Brien.
The organiser’s race-day facts and figures confirm that I Am Maximus regained the title after winning in 2024. Willie Mullins reached four Grand National wins as a trainer, while owner JP McManus also reached four. Those are historical achievements, not evidence that the same horse or connections will win a later race.
This archive does not reproduce a full finishing order or a live odds table. Use the official result for the position you need, and the accepted betting slip for the price and terms that applied to your own bet. A horse finishing third does not by itself establish whether a particular each-way bet paid: the agreed place terms still matter.
The official Grand National fence guide gives the distance as four miles, two and a half furlongs. The course has 16 fences; runners jump 14 of them twice, making 30 jumps. The Chair and the Water Jump belong to the first circuit only.
Becher’s Brook and the Canal Turn are different obstacles. The Canal Turn requires the sharp left-hand turn; do not mistake that feature for Becher’s Brook. These names help you follow the course description, but knowing them cannot establish a horse’s chance or make a bet safe.
Course descriptions and historical footage can help explain a race. They are not a substitute for the correct year’s result, runner declarations or a bookmaker’s settlement rules. Avoid carrying an old field-size claim into a new preview without checking that edition’s official information.
The Jockey Club’s previous-winners record names I Am Maximus for 2024, Nick Rockett for 2025 and I Am Maximus again for 2026. A 2025 heading paired with a 2024 winner would describe the wrong race. Red Rum’s wins belong to 1973, 1974 and 1977; they should not appear as recent results.
Historical winners can supply context, not a selection system. A repeat winner does not create a rule that previous winners should always win again. Likewise, the result of this single race cannot validate a claim that taking an earlier price usually produces better returns.
The original preview discussed early prices before the race. We have not retained those figures as verified bet365 quotations. A price needs an identifiable market, selection and capture time; a number without that record is not a reliable account of what bet365 offered.
If you kept a 2026 betting receipt, distinguish the accepted price from a later race-day price. Do not infer a best-odds guarantee or a price adjustment unless the applicable terms actually provide one. BCP’s futures betting explanation covers the separate questions of early prices, participation conditions and settlement endpoints without promising that early bets pay more.
Bet365’s UK each-way explanation describes separate win and place bets. The number of paying places and the fraction used for the place price depend on the advertised terms. Do not assume every Grand National bet received the same extra places, or that a past promotion applies to a future race.
For an old slip, check the named race and date, the selection, the win and place stakes, the accepted price and the place terms. A race result answers where the horse finished; the receipt records the bet you placed. If settlement is unclear, ask bet365 support about that exact slip rather than treating a preview article as the contract.
This archive does not confirm a particular 2026 extra-place campaign, streaming entitlement or withdrawal timetable. It also does not present a UK offer as an Ireland offer. Any current account promotion needs its own eligibility and terms; it is separate from the finished race.
BCP’s bet365 research and results guide explains how to find a fixture and check racing records. Match the meeting, date and race before comparing a horse’s name. For the 2026 Grand National result, the organiser’s archive above is the named primary source.
A future Grand National is a different event. Check its official date and declared field rather than changing the year on a 2026 preview or assuming old promotional terms carry over. If you want to inspect the current catalogue, view bet365 Sports; that link is not a claim that a particular future market or offer is available.
