Arsenal and Manchester City reached the 2025/26 Carabao Cup final after winning both legs of their semi-finals. This archive records the four January and February matches. It replaces the original pre-match outlook with the completed results; the fixtures are no longer upcoming.

Chelsea and Arsenal: a one-goal lead becomes a place in the final
Arsenal won the first leg 3–2 at Stamford Bridge. Ben White, Viktor Gyökeres and Martín Zubimendi scored for the visitors, while Alejandro Garnacho scored twice for Chelsea. Arsenal therefore entered the return match ahead, but with only a one-goal margin. The club’s first-leg report records the match.
At the Emirates, Kai Havertz scored the only goal late in the second leg. The EFL’s return-leg report describes Chelsea’s compact defence, their attacking substitutions and Arsenal’s late break. Arsenal won 1–0 on the night and 4–2 across the two matches. Chelsea did not overturn the first-leg deficit.
Newcastle and Manchester City: City win home and away
Manchester City left St James’ Park with a 2–0 lead after goals from Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki. City’s first-leg report records the away win. Newcastle needed to recover that deficit in Manchester to remain in the competition.
City instead won the return match 3–1. Omar Marmoush scored twice and Tijjani Reijnders added another before half-time; Anthony Elanga scored for Newcastle after the interval. The EFL’s second-leg report confirms City’s 5–1 aggregate win.
Aggregate scores and what they mean
Arsenal’s four goals came from three in the away leg and one at home; Chelsea’s two came in the first match. City’s five came from two away and three at home; Newcastle scored once in the return leg. A 4–2 or 5–1 aggregate is the total for a two-match tie, not the result of either individual game.
