Run It Once Poker Training has a new coach and it’s a big one – Dan “Jungleman” Cates. Indeed, while the poker world awaits the start of Jungleman vs Galfond, the pair are teaming up in business.
Cates will create poker videos under the Run It Once Poker Training’s “Elite” subscription level. In conjunction with the news, Cates has released his first poker training lesson, a review of a player’s session.
The announcement was revealed to the poker world via a video tweeted from Phil Galfond, done in true eccentric Jungleman style, complete with an appearance of Jungleman sporting yellow underwear and a face mask, but probably not the one you are thinking about.
Welcome to the team, @junglemandan.
Everybody else… welcome to the jungle. pic.twitter.com/PW7DAITA64

Run It Once Poker has gained much of its attention in recent years for its innovative online poker site run by high-stakes player Phil Galfond. But Run It Once Poker has been around a lot longer as a training site, since 2012 to be precise, where it provides expert instruction on a variety of poker concepts.
The training site provides players with world-class strategy, tips and content for No-Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, tournaments and mixed games. In addition, it offers the Vision GTO Trainer, which promises to show players exactly what to do with each hand their range. It also includes an active community with a feed that can be tailored to a user’s needs.
When signing up, users are given access to a database of over 6,400 videos with more released every day. The “Elite” level, which Jungleman videos are a part of, is available for $99.99 per month
Over 150 pros are on the Run It Once Poker training roster. Notable names in addition to Galfond and Cates include Jason Koon, Sam Greenwood, Daniel Dvoress and Ben Sulsky.
Users can search the roster of coaches by filtering out game types and tier of the coach (Elite and Essential)”
Don’t worry, poker fans. The much-anticipated Galfond vs Jungleman match is still in the works after Phil Galfond made easy work of Brandon Adams. The victory followed wins against Venividi, ActionFreak, and Chance Kornuth, leaving Galfond to remain undefeated.
There is no date set for the latest Galfond Challenge match, but it does indeed appear that it will be the next heads-up match.
Last month, Jungleman tweeted confirmation of the match, saying that he would turn Galfond “into a shish kebab.”
Could the announcement of Jungleman joining the Run It Once Poker team coincide with the start of their Galfond Challenge? One event likely affecting timing could be the upcoming World Series of Poker, which gets underway in just over a week. Or do they use poker’s biggest event to help drum up further interest during the WSOP? Time will soon tell.
I love @junglemandan ???? https://t.co/YHsY8SmXKF
