It was a big week for Michael Addamo at the Poker Masters, who took down back-to-back titles to win the 6th Purple Jacket in the poker tournament's history, joining the likes of Steffen Sontheim and Ali Imirovic. Having competed in only one event during the first ten tournaments of the series, Addamo was a non-factor early on. But during the 11th event, the $50,000 No Limit Hold'em, Addamo outlasted a field of 34 entries to secure the victory and a $680,000 first place. At the final table, Addamo defeated four other accomplished players — Jason Koon, David Coleman, Alex Foxen and Cary Katz. The victory put him ahead of the pack in the 2021 Poker Masters Leaderboard, put him in the driver's seat for the Purple Jacket. The next day it was the 12th and final event of the series, the $100,000 No Limit Hold'em. Once again, Addamo had the cards fall his way, not only winning the second event in as many tournaments, but also being the only multiple winner of the series. In his path to victory, Addamo defeated 28 players to win a $1.16 million first-place prize and easily clinch his spot atop the Poker Masters Leaderboard. In winning a combined $1.84 million during the series, Adamo eclipses $10 million in lifetime winnings, according to the Hendon Mob. The number puts him at 97th all-time but just 3rd all-time in Australia, behind Joe Hachem and Kahle Burns.

The Purple Jacket is won by the player who has the best Poker Masters, accounting for wins and cashes during the event. The winner is not necessarily determined based on who has cashed the most, but given Addamo's exclamation point that he put on the final part of the series, he not only was the only two-time winner during the series, but he also won the most during the series. Addamo joins Steffen Sontheimer and Sam Soverel as players that donned the jacket as Main Event winners.
