In a bit of a warm-up act for the upcoming World Series of Poker, the Super High Roller Bowl runs from September 27th to September 29th before the tournament gives away to the 2021 WSOP.
The Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas played host to the $300,000 buy-in event, dubbed Super High Roller Bowl VI.
What happened?
Day 1 (September 27th): A total of 19 players entered the tournament on Day 1, generating a prize pool of $5.7 million. Players can continue to register for the event until the beginning of Day 2 at 12 PM PT, which at least a handful are expected to do. Daniel Negreanu was the first to be eliminated, but other big-name pros such as Stephen Chidwick, Nick Petrangelo, Jason Koon, David Einhorn and Cary Katz all hit the rails.
When the day was complete, Alex Foxen held the lead with 913,000 chips, followed by Seth Davies, Michael Addamo, Justin Bonomo and Jake Schindler. Shorter stacks include Bryn Kenny, David Peters, Bill Kelin, Jack Brewer, and Jonathan Little.
Day 2 (September 28th): Two new players entered the Super High Roller Bowl to bring the total entries to 21, but just five players remained after Day 2 of the Super High Roller Bowl VI, with the red-hot Michael Addamo finishing the day with nearly 3:1 chip lead over three-time winner Justin Bonomo, Sean Winter, Alex Foxen and Chris Brewer.
Day 3 (September 29th): Michael Addamo has done it again to win his third tournament in a row. He had previously taken down victories in the Poker Masters to win the 2021 Purple Jacket. Now he finishes first in the Super High Roller Bowl VI to win $3,402,000 and the presigious title. In his path to victory, Addamo outlasted an impressive final table that included Sean Winter and Justin Bonomo, who finished 3rd and 2nd, respectively.

The history of The Super High Roller Bowl
The Super High Roller Bowl has been a staple in the high stakes world of poker since 2015. The event started out as a yearly event that was followed by the start of the WSOP. The event serves as a chance for high rollers to duke it out while already in Las Vegas for the WSOP.
But in 2018 due to the continued popularity of mammoth high roller events, the Super High Roller Bowl expanded elsewhere. The first non-Las Vegas event was held in Macau (2018), as well as London, the Bahamas, Russia and Australia. Although side stops have been held in recent years, it's been nearly three years since the last “main” Super High Roller Bowl.
In 2020 in place of the Las Vegas event, an online version was held on partypoker. A live Super High Roller Bowl returned in August 2021 with Super High Roller Bowl Europe. Previous winners of the event are as follows:
