Manchester City, under the management of Pep Guardiola, faced a surprising defeat against Bournemouth, marking their first loss in the Premier League in 11 months. The match ended with a score of 2-1, bringing an end to City's impressive 32-game unbeaten run.
Guardiola acknowledged Bournemouth's performance, noting that City's inability to match their intensity was a key factor in the loss.
Antoine Semenyo scored for Bournemouth within the first ten minutes, setting the tone for the match. The Cherries missed several opportunities to add to that goal before Evanilson added a second midway through the second half.
Despite City's efforts, they did not have their first shot on target until the 80th minute, when Josko Gvardiol scored with a fine header to reduce the deficit. However, it was too late for a City comeback and Bournemouth hung on for a memorable win.
That is now two defeats in two for the Citizens after their 2-1 loss to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Liverpool capitalized on Manchester City's slip-up to move to the top of the Premier League standings. The Reds secured a 2-1 victory against Brighton, showcasing their resilience.
The match saw a second-half comeback from Liverpool, with Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scoring crucial goals. Salah's goal, set up by Trent Alexander-Arnold, was a highlight, as he curled an unstoppable shot into the net.
The Reds had fell behind in the 14th minutes of the game thanks to a fabulous finish from Brighton's Ferdy Kadioglu, whose rasping right foot shot gave Kelleher no chance in the Liverpool goal.
This victory puts Liverpool two points ahead of Manchester City, intensifying the title race. And with results elsewhere, it moved the Reds further in front of Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Arsenal faced a tough challenge against Newcastle, resulting in a 1-0 loss. The absence of injured midfielder Martin Odegaard was felt as Arsenal struggled to create opportunities.
Newcastle's Alexander Isak scored the decisive goal, with a towering header in the first half from a wonderful first-time cross by Anthony Gordon.
This defeat drops Arsenal to fourth place, seven points behind the leaders. A fact that will not have gone unnoticed in the Arsenal boardroom and managers office.
One positive is that Martin Odegaard is set to return from injury this week, according to reports from North London.
Nottingham Forest continued their impressive form with a dominant performance against West Ham earning a 3-0 victory over the visitors.
New Zealand international striker Chris Wood scored his eighth goal of the campaign, leading Forest to their third consecutive win. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina also contributed to the victory, propelling Forest to third place in the standings.
With just one defeat this season, and the only team to beat Liverpool so far this season, Forest's rise has been exceptional and unexpected. Manager Nuno Santo will be hoping his team's excellent early season form can continue.

Southampton finally secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Everton. Adam Armstrong scored the only goal of the match, moving Southampton out of last place.
This win provides a much-needed boost for the team, who have struggled in the early stages of the season. Everton, on the other hand, faces renewed pressure as their unbeaten run comes to an end, though the Toffees improved recent form has seen them move away from the relegation zone.
The match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw. The game, held at Molineux Stadium, saw both teams fighting hard for points and had plenty of trademark Premier League drama at both ends!
Trevor Chalobah scored first for Palace, but Wolves responded with goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Joao Gomes. Marc Guehi equalized for Palace, ensuring a share of the points. It was a fantastic, end-to-end game for the neutral to enjoy.
Wolves remain at the bottom of the table, still seeking their first win of the season. The point for Palace keeps them just out of the relegation zone in 17th place in the table.
Manchester United and Chelsea played to a combative 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday. Moises Caicedo scored a brilliant volley for Chelsea, earning them a deserved point.
That fine strike cancelled out Bruno Fernandes' penalty for United which had given the home side the lead in the second half.
The match was marked by a moment of Premier League drama, with Chelsea's boss Enzo Maresca criticizing the referee's decision not to give a red card to United's Lisandro Martinez for a nasty knee-high challenge on Cole Palmer late in the game.
Despite the draw, both teams showed moments of quality, with United's interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy praising his team's performance.
Ruben Amorim is set to take over as the new manager of Manchester United, replacing Erik ten Hag. Amorim, who has been successful at Sporting Lisbon, will join United on November 11.
He plans to bring his backroom staff with him but has vowed not to sign any players from Sporting during the January transfer window. His first match as manager will be against Ipswich on November 24.
In other European leagues, severe flooding in Spain affected La Liga fixtures, with several matches postponed. In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich extended their lead with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Union Berlin, while RB Leipzig lost 2-1 away to Borussia Dortmund.
Vfb Stuttgart held Bayer Leverkusen to a 0-0 draw while Eintracht Frankfurt were the top scorers as they thrashed VfL Bochum 7-2.
In Portugal, Sporting CP‘s Viktor Gyökeres scored four goals in their 5-1 win over Estrela Amadora, no doubt catching the attention of Manchester United's incoming manager, Ruben Amorim as well as a host of other teams believed to be interested in the Swedish striker.
In Italy, Napoli went down to a 3-0 home defeat to Atalanta, for whom Ademola Lookman scored twice. That allowed Inter Milan to close the gap on the Neapolitans to one point thanks to their 1-0 win over Venezia.
The Premier League continues to deliver excitement and surprises, with unexpected results shaking up the standings. Manchester City's defeat to Bournemouth and Liverpool's rise to the top highlight the unpredictable nature of the league.
As teams battle for supremacy, fans can expect more thrilling matches and dramatic twists in the coming weeks.
