Effort – A-
Achievement – B
Star Pupil – Gabriel – Brazilian defender has been rock solid as well as a danger at set plays.
Must Work Harder – Gabriel Jesus – Has struggled in the Premier League with injuries.
The extra pressure of playing in the Champions League has affected their league form, but still in the race for European football and going well in the Champions League.
Effort – B-
Achievement – B-
Star Pupil – Jhon Duran – Has had a huge impact, often off the bench scoring some key goals.
Must Work Harder – Youri Tielemans – Not as influential in midfield as he needs to be.

Effort – A
Achievement – A
Star Pupil – Milos Kerkez – Fast emerging as one of the best left backs in the Premier League.
Must Work Harder – Evanilson – Seen flashes of the Brazilian’s skill, but not often enough.
A real mixed bag for Brentford fans. At home, they have been perfect. Away from home, they have been awful. It’s an easy tip for the Bees – start producing away from home!
Effort – A+ at home – D- Away from Home
Achievement – A-
Star Pupils – Bryan Mbeumo & Yoann Wissa – A fantastic attacking duo.
Must Work Harder – The whole team- away from home!
Fabian Hurzeler has had some positive moments, a 3-2 win over Man City, but also a few disappointments. Brighton still over-performing and playing good football though.
Effort – B+
Achievement – C+
Star Pupil – Carlos Baleba – Defensive midfielder has really caught the eye for the Seagulls.
Must Work Harder – Georginio Rutter – Spent a lot of money on him, for little reward so far.

Effort – A-
Achievement – A-

Must Work Harder – Mikhailo Mudryk – Failing a drugs test is entirely unacceptable.
It’s not been as easy this season for Oliver Glasner. Palace are just outside the relegation battle but need to keep improving in order to remain safe. They have the talent to do so.
Effort – C-
Achievement – D+
Star Pupil – Marc Guehi – Still the rock at the heart of the Crystal Palace defence.
Must Work Harder – Eberechi Eze – For his talent, there is not enough production.
Sean Dyche’s Everton have bounced back well following a miserable start to the season. However they do seem over-reliant on one or two key players. Others need to contribute more.
Effort – D
Achievement – D+
Star Pupil – Dwight McNeill – Without him Everton would be in serious trouble.
Must Work Harder – Beto – Very little return from an expensive striker.
A great first half of the season for Fulham and manager Marco Silva. They have over-performed compared to expectations and have landed some superb results in recent times, drawing with Arsenal and Liverpool of late.
Effort – B+
Achievement – B+
Star Pupil – Antonee Robinson – Has been outstanding at left back for the Cottagers.
Must Work Harder – Adama Traore – Huge pace and potential but not showing it at present.

Effort – B
Achievement – D

Must Work Harder – Kalvin Phillips – Career is in terminal decline at the moment.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy hasn’t been in the job long but he will already know he has a big task on his hands as Leicester look less than solid defensively and struggle to score goals. A big second half of the season looms.
Effort – C-
Achievement – D-
Star Pupil – Wilfred Ndidi – Has been the rock at the heart of the Foxes midfield.
Must Work Harder – Stephy Mavdidi – Found the step up in class to the EPL very tough.
Almost a perfect start for Liverpool. Arne Slot could not have wished for a better beginning to life as Liverpool manager. However the fans are itching to hear some equally positive news on the contract front.

Effort – C
Achievement – D
Star Pupil – Erling Haaland – Even in a struggling City team, he continues to score goals.
Must Work Harder – Jack Grealish – struggling to make an impact at the club.
A terrible start under Ten Hag and now Amorim has the task of bringing back the United of old. There are some positive signs, but also worrying signs that the old issues under Ten Hag remain. A key 2nd half of the season looms ahead.
Effort – D-
Achievement – E
Star Pupil – Diogo Dalot – Probably the most consistent player on the team this season.
Must Work Harder – Pretty much the entire team to be honest.
Inconsistency has dogged Newcastle United so far this season and manager Eddie Howe will be as frustrated at that as any fan. Alexander Isak’s great form continues to be a big positive though.

Must Work Harder – Lucas Paqueta – Is struggling for form since being linked with move away.
Vitor Pereira is coming in to fight fires with Wolves but he does have plenty of talent to work with. They have under-performed for Gary O’Neill and so a big second half of the season is a must as they are well below what is expected.
