Santosh Suvarna finished in fifth place; he is notable for not being a professional poker player but has solidified himself among high-stakes players.

Suvarna has an impressive resume including another EPT final table finish earlier in Paris. Jesse Lonis was eliminated in fourth place; he is currently ranked first on the Global Poker Index and has had an explosive year.

Sean Winter‘s run ended when his bluff was called by Seth Davies. Winter eventually finished third after losing his remaining chips to Davies shortly after.

In heads-up play, Seth Davies couldn't capitalize on his chip lead and lost to Kayhan Mokri on the second hand. Davies' flopped two pair fell behind Mokri's turned set.

Mokri converted his short stack among the final four into a chip lead through strategic double-ups and significant bluffs. His masterful performance at the final table secured him another major win on one of poker's biggest stages.

Kyle Lorenz from Pennsylvania won a pass despite claiming to be bad at satellites. Brian Frasca from Mechanicsburg won his pass on his first attempt using four $100 Step bullets. Scott Haze of Havertown won almost $15K plus a Gold Pass in the Pennsylvania Summer Stacks Main Event.

The PokerStars PACOOP schedule is anticipated to be released soon; it is a highly awaited series each year on PokerStars clients.

BetMGM client offers satellites for Borgata Poker Open (Sept. 3-17) in Atlantic City. The WSOP was acquired by GGPoker for $500 million, which could lead to potential future changes for online poker in PA.

The Parx Big Stax tournament concluded on August 12th with Kevin Grabel winning $132,000 after an ICM chop. Sylvain Berthelot Wins €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event

Sylvain Berthelot won the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event at the 2024 PokerStars EPT Barcelona, securing his first major poker title and a prize of €499,224. Martin Zamani dominated early on Day 4 with aggressive betting but eventually finished in third place.

Santiago Nadal was the runner-up, earning €394,526 after an ICM deal. Parker Talbot, a PokerStars Team Pro, finished fourth and continued his successful year with another six-figure score.

Berthelot entered Day 4 as the short stack with just ten big blinds. He managed to climb from last place to win nearly half a million euros. Berthelot took a break from poker for several years to focus on family life before returning to the game.

An ICM deal was reached after Parker Talbot's elimination in fourth place. The deal involved Berthelot, Zamani, and Nadal agreeing on prize distribution but continuing to play for an additional €45,100.

Martin Zamani lost momentum and was eliminated in third place when his ace-four couldn't beat Berthelot's ace-queen.

Heads-up play between Berthelot and Nadal ended quickly when Berthelot turned a nut flush against Nadal’s turned Broadway straight. Berthelot expressed disbelief and immense happiness over his victory in an interview with PokerNews.

Berthold Winz Triumphs in €2,200 Estrellas High Roller

Berthold Winz from Germany won the €2,200 Estrellas High Roller at the 2024 PokerStars EPT Barcelona, hosted at Casino Barcelona. Winz defeated Ronald Steinmetz in a brief heads-up duel to claim the trophy and top prize of €600,000. This victory marked Winz's second EPT trophy and his career-best score. He entered the final day as the chip leader and quickly reduced the field.

The ESPT High Roller attracted 2,064 entrants across two starting flights, generating a prize pool of €3,962,000. Out of these players, 309 advanced to Day 2 and were guaranteed at least a min-cash of €3,200.

By Day 3's start, only 26 players remained. Winz began as chip leader and eliminated Mitchell Garshofsky within the first 20 minutes. Rania Nasreddine started with the second-largest stack but lost a significant pot early on and was eliminated by Winz in 17th place for €24,600.

Grzegorz Kozieja started as chip leader; Ronald Steinmetz was just behind him. Winz quickly moved up by eliminating Bernat Carreras (9th place for €55,350) and Hugues Girard (8th place for €71,950). Cedric Schwaederle laddered up two spots before falling in seventh place during a three-way preflop collision that saw Christophe Pommier triple up.

Anton Kraous was eliminated in sixth place (€121,750), followed by Kozieja (5th place for €158,500) and Jan-Eric Schwippert (4th place for €206,088).

Christophe Pommier was eliminated in third place (€268,050), leading to heads-up play between Winz and Steinmetz with Winz holding nearly a three-to-one chip advantage. The heads-up duel ended quickly when Steinmetz bluffed on the river with ace-high against Winz’s straight. This left Steinmetz with just over ten big blinds which he lost shortly after. Winz won the final pot with aces up against Steinmetz’s queen-nine offsuit to secure his victory.
