Corrected European qualifying groups, the full October 2026 play-off draw and the distinction between winning a tie and reaching the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

Europe’s qualification campaign for the 2027 Women’s World Cup has reached the play-offs. This guide records every league-stage group and explains the remaining route to Brazil, with the October ties checked against UEFA’s 1 October 2026 update. It supplies no live odds or recommended bets.
UEFA’s completed league-stage record confirms Denmark, France, Germany and Spain as the four direct qualifiers. England finished behind Spain in A3 and entered the play-offs. Winning promotion from League B did not itself secure a World Cup place: Portugal, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales still have knockout ties to play.
The league stage ended on 9 June. The earlier preview’s blanket statement that all remaining teams would reach the play-offs was wrong. Thirty-two teams advanced to that phase; finishing outside its qualifying positions ended a team’s World Cup route.
These are the groups in UEFA’s league-stage draw, not a new draw for the October ties. League A and B each had four four-team groups. League C had six groups: three of four teams and three of three. There was no five-team C5 group.
| Group | Teams |
|---|---|
| A1 | Sweden, Italy, Denmark, Serbia |
| A2 | France, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Ireland |
| A3 | Spain, England, Iceland, Ukraine |
| A4 | Germany, Norway, Austria, Slovenia |
| B1 | Wales, Czechia, Albania, Montenegro |
| B2 | Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Türkiye, Malta |
| B3 | Portugal, Finland, Slovakia, Latvia |
| B4 | Belgium, Scotland, Israel, Luxembourg |
| C1 | Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein |
| C2 | Croatia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Gibraltar |
| C3 | Hungary, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Andorra |
| C4 | Greece, Faroe Islands, Georgia |
| C5 | Romania, Cyprus, Moldova |
| C6 | Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia |
The original League B and C group lists did not match this draw. Replacing them matters beyond spelling: a team’s league and finishing position determined which qualification path it could take. A supposed opening fixture between teams assigned to different groups cannot be repaired by changing its kick-off time.
Article 27 of UEFA’s competition regulations sets out the allocation. Path 1 pairs League A’s runners-up and third-placed teams with the six League C winners and its two best runners-up. Path 2 pairs League A’s fourth-placed teams and League B’s winners with League B’s runners-up and third-placed teams.
Each tie has a home and away leg, with aggregate goals deciding the winner. In Path 1, the League A teams play the second leg at home. In Path 2, that position goes to the League A teams and League B group winners. The sixteen winners advance to round two.
UEFA’s 1 October update confirms first legs on 9 October and return legs on 13 October 2026. First-leg hosts appear first below. Check the official listing for each kick-off; there is no blanket 19:45 UK start.
| Path | First-leg host | Return-leg host |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lithuania | Sweden |
| 1 | Romania | Norway |
| 1 | Greece | England |
| 1 | Croatia | Iceland |
| 1 | Kazakhstan | Republic of Ireland |
| 1 | Kosovo | Austria |
| 1 | Hungary | Netherlands |
| 1 | Belarus | Italy |
| 2 | Albania | Wales |
| 2 | Türkiye | Slovenia |
| 2 | Slovakia | Ukraine |
| 2 | Israel | Switzerland |
| 2 | Belgium | Poland |
| 2 | Czechia | Scotland |
| 2 | Northern Ireland | Portugal |
| 2 | Finland | Serbia |
The draw does not guarantee progression for a better-known team. The return leg remains part of the contest even if a team wins its first match.
The 18 June play-off draw also set these second-round pairings. Each slash means the winner of that first-round tie; it does not mean both teams qualify. The first column supplies the first-leg host. The round falls within 26 November–5 December 2026, with exact match dates still marked to be confirmed in UEFA’s draw record.
| First-leg side: winner of | Return-leg side: winner of |
|---|---|
| Slovakia / Ukraine | Greece / England |
| Finland / Serbia | Belarus / Italy |
| Northern Ireland / Portugal | Croatia / Iceland |
| Albania / Wales | Romania / Norway |
| Israel / Switzerland | Kosovo / Austria |
| Czechia / Scotland | Lithuania / Sweden |
| Belgium / Poland | Kazakhstan / Republic of Ireland |
| Türkiye / Slovenia | Hungary / Netherlands |
For example, the winner of Greece–England meets the winner of Slovakia–Ukraine. That describes a possible next opponent, not an already confirmed England fixture. Treating a bracket as a completed result would remove the first-round qualification condition.
Under Article 27, the seven best-ranked round-two winners in the 2026 European Qualifiers overall league rankings qualify directly. The other winner goes to FIFA’s inter-confederation play-offs. Europe has eleven direct places in total: four from League A and seven from the knockout phase, with one additional possible place through that separate route.
The difference matters when checking an eventual selection labelled “to qualify”. Winning a named tie and reaching the World Cup finals are not identical events. A team can win round two yet still have another qualification stage; read the accepted market wording rather than guessing from a headline.
The earlier article forecast battles within its groups and discussed squad depth, goal difference and the second-leg venue. Those were pre-match assessments, not verified standings or a guaranteed betting advantage. The official June outcomes now decide who remained in contention.
Past fixture dates also need their own record. The old March, April and June lists contained incorrect pairings and calendar dates; they are not upcoming matches. For completed scores, use UEFA’s league-stage results, rather than infer a result from a preview. The October table above serves the current fixture task.
Identify the competition, opponent, leg and market period. A match-result selection, an aggregate tie winner and qualification for the final tournament ask different questions. Check team news and accepted prices at the time of the bet; this page does not establish that every fixture or special is available to every account.
For combining selections within one fixture, see BCP’s Bet Builder guide. The in-play guide explains acceptance and suspension checks after play starts. Neither product changes the tournament’s qualification rules.
You can view current bet365 sports markets. Check the actual listing and terms; the league-stage opinions above are not new selections.
