NFL Week 16 is in the bag and we now have just two more weeks left of the NFL Regular Season.
Once again I can’t quite believe how quickly this season has gone by. It seems barely a few weeks ago that we were watching in disbelief as Aaron Rodgers season lasted just four snaps with the New York Jets.
But we are here at NFL Week 16 of the season now in the history books and just two more sets of matches to go. And of course, there’s plenty to be settled right across the NFL in those games.
The big game of the NFL Week 16 weekend went the way of the Baltimore Ravens who dominated the second and third quarters, intercepting Brock Purdy four times and his replacement Sam Darnold once, to claim a stunning 33-19 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Let’s now take a look back at how the NFL Week 16 results turned out.
Another solid week of tips saw me hit 11 out of 16 which pushes me. Close to the 150 mark on the season with two weeks to go, let’s hope we can continue to improve the average until we get to the 66% mark or higher.
After a busy week of action, here are the updated Playoff scenarios in both the AFC and NFC after NFL Week 16. (NFL has an 18 Week Season).
Clinched A Playoff Spot? – Baltimore Ravens (12-3), Miami Dolphins (11-4)

Clinched A Playoff Spot? – San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys

The best teams in the AFC and NFC this season clashed at the weekend, and it was the AFC’s Baltimore Ravens that came out on top. Trailing 5-0 in the first quarter, the Ravens held the 49ers to just two more touchdowns while racking up 33 points, 30 of which came in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Ravens intercepted the 49ers 5 times, sacked the QB 4 times and caused Brock Purdy to have his worst game as a 49er.
QB has been a nightmare position for the Patriots this season, but Bailey Zappe produced his best display of the season, passing for 256 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions to lead the Patriots to a shock win over the Broncos. However, the Pats defense, led by Christian Barmore (who had 3 sacks and 2 tackles for a loss, as well as 8 tackles) played a huge part in shutting down the Broncos offense and inflicting a defeat which severely dents their playoff hopes.
George Pickens only caught the ball four times but went for 195 yards and two touchdowns as he torched the Cincinnati Bengals defense to lead the Steelers to a key win. One that keeps their playoff hopes alive. Mason Rudolph threw for 290 yards as Pittsburgh finally put up some points on offense. But the Bengals chances took a blow as they were well contained by another dominating display by the Steelers defense.
The Chiefs will win the AFC West, but they are stumbling towards the finish line rather than racing through it. Another surprise defeat and a frustratingly below par performance by Patrick Mahomes means that the Chiefs are now well out contention for home field advantage in the AFC and they are not playing like a team capable of going on the road and beating the best in the division.
Whoever wins the AFC South may do so because their opponents stumble in the last two weeks of the season. All four teams in the division were defeated this week and while the Jaguars and Texans losses may have been expected, the Colts should really have fancied their chances to beat the Falcons, but despite taking a 7-0 lead, the Falcons put in a solid display as the Colts once again stumbled, meaning we have three teams at 8-7 in the division, with just two games to go.
For many weeks now, the San Francisco 49ers have been the defacto best team in the NFL. They’ve been top of our power rankings for a good while, but this week, the Baltimore Ravens defense stepped up and put the brakes on the 49ers. A dominant middle two quarters saw the Ravens suffocate the life out of the 49er’s offense, while putting up 33 points on the road against the NFC’s best team. As much as this was a statement win for the Ravens, it was equally a wakeup call for the 49ers.
