Manchester City are the only team with a 100% winning record after their opening three games of the Premier League football season and they sit alone at the top of the table. West Ham, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal are the teams chasing them with seven points. Brighton, Aston Villa and Manchester United have six points.
At the foot of the table four teams remain pointless, Burnley and Luton (who have played just two games so far this season) with Sheff Utd and bottom placed Everton also pointless after three games.
Players that have started the EPL football season well include Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), James Maddison (Tottenham), Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottm Forest), Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), Matty Cash (Aston Villa) and Rodri (Manchester City).
After a surprise 3-0 loss to Red Bull Leipzig in the German Super Cup, Bayern Munich’s new striker Harry Kane got his first goal in their opening Bundesliga game of the football season.
Bayern are one of five teams with two wins in their opening two matches and they lie 2nd behind Union Berlin and ahead of Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Freiburg who all have maximum points.
Kane is third in the leading goalscorer charts after two games, a goal behind the leaders Jonas Wind of Wolfsburg and Kevin Behrens of Union Berlin.
Champions PSG got off to a slow start, drawing their opening two games of the French football season but after reinstating Kylian Mbappe to the team, they landed a 3-1 win over Lens at the weekend, with the French superstar scoring the second and third goals of the game.
They lie 8th in the table with Monaco and Marseille currently leading the way with seven points from three games. Lyon, who face PSG this weekend, have had a worrying start picking up one point from three games to lie in the relegation spots in 16th.
Three wins on the road and four goals in three games for Jude Bellingham sees Real Madrid atop La Liga early in the Spanish football season. They lie two points ahead three teams, Atletico Madrid, Girona and Barcelona who all have seven points.
More of a surprise in Spain is who is struggling at the foot of the table as Europa League winners Sevilla have started the La Liga football season with three successive defeats, two of those coming at home as they are rock bottom of the table and the only La Liga side without a point.
Two games into the new Serie A football season and four teams retain 100% records including both Milan teams, Inter and AC, champions Napoli and the surprise team in the group, Verona. Juventus are one of three teams (Fiorentina & Lecce being the others) with four points.
Lazio have struggled in the early weeks, losing both their games while Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma have also had a tough start picking up just one point from their two games so far.
Outlined below are some of our best weekend football betting tips for matches taking place from Friday 1st to Monday 4th September.
