There may not be any European action this week, but a number of teams across Europe will be busy with their own domestic program.

In England, that means we will have the FA Cup 5th Round, which is now contested in midweek, plus on top of that we have two Premier League clashes on Wednesday as four teams will play one of their games in hand on the other teams in the division.

Of course, if you want to enjoy a bet on any of the eight FA Cup 5th Round ties, or the Premier League Double-header on Wednesday night, then bet365 Sport is the place to head with a wide selection of offers and promotions available alongside its great selection of betting markets for games in the FA Cup and Premier League.

Let’s now quickly preview the games taking place on Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March this week in both competitions and of course we will give you our best tip for each of the games being played.

FA Cup 5th Round

Tuesday 28th February

  • Stoke City v Brighton & Hove Albion (7.15pm)

Lge Position – STO – CHM – 17th, P34, 40pts (-2); BRG – EPL – 8th, P22, 35pts (+10)

Current Form – STO – W2, D1, L2: BRG – W2, D2, L1

Last Result – Feb 2018 – Stoke City 1-1 Brighton (EPL)

Trends – Stoke lost just 1 of last 18 games between them. Over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of last 5 games

Stoke City have struggled for consistency in the Championship this season and while they don’t concede too many goals, they don’t really score enough either. Brighton have been one of the top teams in the Premier League this season and have shone over the games so far. I think that they are going to be far too strong for the home side here and as such, I think they will achieve the win without Stoke getting on the scoresheet.

Best Bet – Brighton to win and both teams to score – no – 11/8

  • Leicester City v Blackburn Rovers (7.30pm)

Lge Position – LEI – EPL – 14th, P24, 24pts (-6); BBR – CHM – 4th, P34, 55pts (0)

Current Form – LEI – W2, D1, L2; BBR – W3, D2, L0

Last Result – Mar 2014 – Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Leicester City (CHM)

Trends – Blackburn have won just one of 4 FA Cup ties between them. Leicester unbeaten in last 3.

We do like a bet365 bet boost and there is one that I feel is perfect for this tie. Kelechi Iheanacho has scored more FA Cup goals in recent times than any other player and when you pair that with a Leicester win and the likelihood of over 2 goals being scored in the game, which I think is an excellent call, I feel that this bet boost offers superb value on Tuesday night.

Best BetBet Boost – Match Result Leicester, Iheanacho to score anytime, Over 2 goals – 11/4

  • Fulham v Leeds United (7.45pm)

Lge Position – FLH – EPL – 6th, P25, 39pts (+5); LEE – EPL – 17th – P24, 22pts (-10)

Current Form – FLH – W2, D2, L1; LEE – W1, D1, L3

Last Result – Oct 2022 – Leeds Utd 2-3 Fulham (EPL)

Trends – 5 of last six have had over 2.5 goals. Both teams scored in 4 of last 6 games.

One thing you can be sure of is that when two Premier League teams meet, they will not want the prospect of extra time, replays, penalties or anything. As such, I can see this being a game where both managers go for it. At the moment, if that happens, I think Fulham are best suited to securing the win and will likely do so inside the 90 minute mark.

Best Bet – Fulham to win in 90 minutes – 23/20

  • Bristol City v Manchester City

Lge Position – BRC – CHM – 13th, P33, 44pts (+2); MCY – EPL – 2nd, P25, 55pts (+39)

Current Form – BRC – W3, D2, L0; MCY – W3, D1, L1

Last Result – Jan 2018 – Bristol City 2-3 Manchester City (FLC)

Trends – Over 2.5 goals and both teams scored in last 4 games, all won by Man City.

I do always like to look for a good value Bet Boost offer when betting at bet365 and there is a very good one for this game. Manchester City are the huge favourites here and that isn’t surprising. I see them dominating this game for long periods, winning corners, scoring a few goals across both galves and there is a Bet Boost that aligns very nicely with that with Alvarez scoring at any time for the visitors.

Best BetBet Boost – Man City to win both halves, Alvarez to score anytime, Over 7 corners – 10/3

Wednesday 1st March

  • Southampton v Grimsby Town (7.15pm)

Lge Position – SOU – EPL – 20th, 18pts (-22); GRM – LG2 – 16th, P30, 38pts (-4)

Current Form – SOU – W1, D0, L4; GRM – W1, D2, L2

Last Result – Jan 1978 – Grimsby Town 1-4 Southampton (FAC 2nd Replay)

Trends – Both teams haves scored in 11 of last 14 games. First game between two for 45 years.

It has been a while since these two port towns have met and that came in the FA Cup, Southampton securing a 4-1 win in a second replay after two 0-0 draws beforehand. That can’t happen now in this competition and with home advantage for the Premier League side, you would expect them to record a relatively comfortable win over their League Two opponents who have done very well to get this far in the tournament.

Best BetBet Boost – Ward Prowse to Score, Southampton to win, Over 2 goals – 10/3

  • Burnley v Fleetwood Town (7.30pm)

Lge Position – BUR – CHM – 1st, P34, 76pts (+40); FLT – LG1 – 11th, P33, 42pts (+2)

Current Form – BUR – W3, D2, L0; FLT – W4, D1, L0

Last Result – The two teams have never met previously.

Trends – 3 of Burnley’s last 4 and 5 of Fleetwood’s last 6 have seen 2 goals or fewer scored.

Two teams in excellent form clash at Turf Moor on Wednesday night, but I think the smart money will be on the home side here. Fleetwood’s record in League One over their last five games is impressive, but they are still only mid-table, while Burnley top the Championship and over the course of the season have a fantastic record. This to me looks like a home win for Burnley and a relatively comfortable one at that.

Best Bet – Burnley to win to nil – Evens

  • Manchester United v West Ham United (7.45pm)

Lge Position – MNU – EPL – 3rd, P24, 49pts (+13); WHU – EPL – 16th, P24, 23pts (-6)

Current Form – MNU – W3, D1, L1; WHU – W2, D2, L1

Last Result – Oct 2022 – Man Utd 1-0 West Ham

Trends – 5 of last 6 have finished 1-0 (4 to Man Utd, 1 to West Ham).

Goals have been at a premium in this game in the past with five of the last six seeing just one goal scored. However, with this being a cup match and with both teams recent form, my gut feeling here is that we are going to see a game with goals. All the impetus is with Manchester United after their win over Barcelona and then the Carabao Cup win at the weekend and as such, while I see West Ham scoring a goal, I feel the home side will come away with the win quite comfortably.

Best Bet – Man Utd to win and both teams to score – 12/5

  • Sheffield United v Tottenham Hotspur (7.55pm)

Lge Position – SHU – CHM – 2nd, P33, 64pts (+25); TOT – EPL – 4th, P25, 45pts (+11)

Current Form – SHU – W2, D1, L2; TOT – W4, D0, L1

Last Result – May 2021 – Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 Sheffield United

Trends – Both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were scored in 4 of last 5 between the teams.

Sheffield United battled past a brave Wrexham in the last round to reach the Fifth Round and their reward is a home game against a Tottenham side that should be buoyed by their excellent win over Chelsea at the weekend. Bramall Lane is always a tough place to go and Spurs won’t have things their own way here, but I am backing them to land a win by the odd goal in three.

Best Bet – Tottenham to win and both teams to score – 5/2

Premier League

Wednesday 1st March

  • Arsenal v Everton (7.45pm)

Lge Position – ARS – 1st, P24, 57pts (+29); EVE – 18th, P24, 21pts (-15)

Current Form – ARS – W2, D1, L2; EVE – W2, D0, L3

Last Result – Feb 2023 – Everton 1-0 Arsenal (EPL)

Trends – Everton have won four of the last five between the two.

It is strange to consider that Everton have the better recent record of these two teams quite comfortably, but Arsenal’s sole win in the last five was a 5-1 thrashing at the Emirates last season and Everton could be in danger of a similar result tonight. Sean Dyche’s defensive approach worked in the home game, I am not sure that it will do so here and I am backing Arsenal to score a few goals to land the win and midfield maestro Martin Odegaard to grab one of those at some point.

Best Bet – Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) to score anytime – 12/5

  • Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Lge Position – LIV – 7th, P23, 36pts (+10); WLV – 15th, P24, 24pts (-15)

Current Form – LIV – W2, D2, L1; WLV – W2, D1, L2

Last Result – Feb 2023 – Wolves 3-0 Liverpool (EPL)

Trends – The teams have met 3 times since 7th Jan, with one win, one draw and one loss each.

The fourth time these two will have met in just over two months could be a crucial game for both sides. Liverpool need to win to close in on the top four, while Wolves know a win here would be a huge boost for their relegation fight. In truth, the form of these two teams is such that I think predicting a result is tough, so I am going to go for Mo Salah to get a goal at any time in this game.

Best Bet – Mohammed Salah (Liverpool) to score anytime – 13/10

*Kick off time is 8pm unless otherwise stated. All odds shown were correct at the time of writing but may have changed since the article was published.
