Las Vegas, NV – Piggybacking off the hype of the upcoming heads-up grudge match between Mike Dentale and Cate Hall, alleged poker pros Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and Shawn “The Sheik” Sheikhan have announced a grudge match of their own.

These grudge matches have been all the rage in the poker world the last few months. After Cate Hall and Mike Dentale announced their match, a game was quickly organized between poker pros William Kassouf and Stacy Matuson. And according to the stream’s three viewers, Stacy was victorious.

Matusow and Sheikhan are hoping to mirror that very success and “put poker back on the map.”

Matusow vs Sheikhan, or whoever: the lowdown

Matusow was the first to break the news of the match with the following sloppily-typed tweet:

A totally real tweet from Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow is the owner of four World Series of Poker bracelets and has made the final table of the Main Event twice – in both 2001 and 2005, where his feud with Shawn Sheikan began.

Matusow has also recently been at the center of an attack by poker pro Daniel Negreanu, who called him a thief and a liar. Matusow responded to these allegations by taking a three and a half hour nap.

After his 11th place run in the 2005 Main Event for $600,000, Shawn Sheikhan made several appearances on poker boom staples like Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, and the NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship. However, since 2008 he has only recorded 4 tournament cashes totaling $63,423.

Over the phone, a representative for Sheikhan said: “What are you talking about? I don’t represent anyone by that name. Who did you say this was again?”

The heads-up duel is scheduled to take place at noon on March 25 in a closet at Gold Spike Casino in Las Vegas.

The whole match will be recorded live on a video camera formerly owned by Tom McEvoy. The match will then be uploaded to YouTube maybe someday or not.

Sheikhan and Matusow are both preparing for the match by staring out the window and dreaming it’s still 2005.
