women in poker hall of fame

A total of 54 women were nominated by fans for enshrinement in the Women in Poker Hall of Fame and to be members of the 2022 inductee class.

However, that list is now down to seven worthy female poker players and personalities all of whom have met the criteria for inclusion on the final vote for a place in the Hall of Fame.

But with no new names admitted to the Women in Poker Hall of Fame since 2018, there’s no guarantee that any of the final seven will earn a place alongside their revered peers that are already a member of that exclusive club.

Those nominated initially were asked to have met a set of three four criteria:

  • The nominee must be, or have been, an active poker player or working within the poker industry for at least 10 years.
  • They must be aged 35 years old or older.
  • The nominee should have made a significant contribution in the world of poker.
  • The nominee should have furthered the cause and be a supporter of women in poker.

How To Vote For The Nominees

The public vote is now open and today is the final day you can cast your vote, so you’ll have to be quick to get your vote in.

Voting is open to the public via a form you can access from this link, and you have a total of ten votes that you can cast, handing as many of those votes to each nominee as you see fit.

You can give one of the nominees all ten votes if you feel they are deserving of them, or you can spread your votes around as many of the seven nominees as you like.

Once voting closes at midnight PST tonight, the votes will be collated and combined with votes from member and industry cotes in order to determine which of the nominees will earn their place in the Hall of Fame.

Who Are The Class Of 2022 WIPHOF Nominees?

The seven women that have earned the right to go to ballot for inclusion in the WiPHoF include a number of current and former poker professionals, as well as personalities from within the poker industry itself.

The full list of the nominees, together with information about each, is shown below:

  • Liv Boeree

Now retired from most professional poker events, Liv Boeree earned around $3.9m from her skills at the table during her career, which includes winning one WSOP bracelet. She is a former PokerStars professional.

  • Angelica Hael

Hael is the Vice President of Global Tour Management and has spent a dozen years working with the WPT and has also won the 2018 GPI Industry Person of the Year award.

She is also a familiar face from her work as a Poker presenter where she has been the host of a number of shows including NBC Heads Up, Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker.

  • Vanessa Selbst

A former PokerStars Team Pro member, Selbst is the highest earning woman in poker history, earning around $11.9 million in earnings and claiming three World Series of Poker Bracelet and two World Poker Tour Final Table spots to her name.
