It's still a month until the 2021 World Series of Poker officially gets underway in Las Vegas. But while players get their vaccines and book their plane tickets, the international online portion continues to roll on at GG Poker.
As he has done over the last couple of years, GG Poker ambassador Daniel Negreanu is among those playing in WSOP events on GG Poker from Canada. And to those who have followed his activity over the last couple of years, his now-famous — or infamous — rants have continued, at least while playing during a recent event.
Most recently, Negreanu sat down to play in the $25,000 Super High Roller Championship, which was streamed live on Twitch, which he does for many events. He was delt a copule hands as the favorite before the board didn't cooperate. Watch how these two subsequent hands unfolded below:
With the exit, Negreanu finished in 51st place for the tournament and did not cash.
Despite being brief, the meltdown was similar to one's seen last year during the GG Poker portion of the WSOP, which even led to a temporary ban on the platform. During Daniel Negreanu's highly anticipated heads-up match with Doug Polk, he would frequently blow off steam in post-match interviews.
While some poker fans note that contrast from the “nice” public perception of Negreanu, many poker players can relate to a stronger mix of emotions that can occur playing online at home.
How has Daniel Negreanu done so far during the 2021 WSOP?
Daniel Negreanu has been busy playing WSOP events on both WSOP.com and GG Poker this summer. Although Negreanu has so far fallen short of his long-sought-after seventh gold bracelet, he has cashed in 14 events so far. He came closest to winning a bracelet when he finished 3rd in the $600 No Limit Hold'em – Knockout Online on July 22nd. Negreanu took home $19,851 for that tournament.
With nearly two weeks of events still to be played on GG Poker and the live WSOP in Las Vegas — and its 83 events — Negreanu will still have plenty of opportunities to get gold this year.
Here's a look at what Negreanu has accomplished thus far during the 2021 WSOP according to the Hendon Mob

How to participate in the 2021 WSOP on GG Poker
The international portion of the 2021 WSOP has been running on GG Poker since August 1st and will continue with daily events through September 12th. In total, 33 bracelet events are being awarded before all focus turns to the Las Vegas portion of the 2021 WSOP.
The highlight of the remaining schedule is undoubtedly the MAIN EVENT Online Championship which is set to begin on September 5th at 8:30 PM ET. It will be a one-day event that players can enter for $5,000. Check here for a full schedule.
In order to participate in this portion of the World Series of Poker you must have a GG Poker account and be located in a country that GG Poker allows. Unfortunately at this time, GG Poker does not accept players from the United States. Players located in the U.S. in certain states (Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania) were allowed to play earlier this summer on WSOP.com.
Given some strict travel restrictions in some countries, many players may not be able to participate in the WSOP in Las Vegas this summer, so playing on GG Poker may provide the best opportunity this year to do so.
