The 2021 World Series of Poker Europe continues with roll on with ten winners crowned from the first 15 events. While many players have had good a WSOPE thus far, one player who has stood out from the rest is Julien Martini, who took down his second bracelet in less than a week after winning the 8 Game Mix event for €33,910.
The victory followed his win earlier in the week at the WSOP Europe €2,500 Short Deck Hold’em. The two victories bring Martini’s total bracelet haul to three, having previously won WSOP gold during the 2018 $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better in Las Vegas.
Martini was cheeky in victory tweeting “and still no time for the hair dresser,” in reference to his post-win photo.

Martini isn’t let his two victories slow him down. Right after the most recent win, he also had an impressive run Event #13, the €10,000 No Limit Hold’em 6-max, where he finished in 8th place out of 73 entrants to score a €21,651 prize.
The performance so far would likely put Martini as the top player of the series so far. However, World Series of Poker Europe results are not being counted in the 2021 WSOP Player of the Year standings as has been the case in previous years. Last month, Josh Arieh took down the honor, which comprised of results from the Las Vegas leg of the WSOP, including online events that were held while it was running.
How did he do during the 2021 WSOP in Las Vegas?
Due to coronavirus travel restrictions, many poker players had to settle for playing either the Las Vegas leg or World Series of Poker Europe leg. Not for Martini. This fall, Martini participated in numerous events at the WSOP, notably making the money in four separate events:
- $500 Reunion – 888th place for $1,262
- $1,500 Mixed Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; Omaha Hi Lo 8 or Better; Big O – 87th place for $2,423
- $1,500 Razz – 24th place for $3,376
- $10,000 No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship – 6th
None of the victories were huge scores for Martini, but he did add to his WSOP cash totals, which sat at 31 while total WSOP earnings swelled to $840,724 before his run at WSOP Europe. With Martini’s success at WSOPE, he moves over the $5 million mark in lifetime winnings, which is 10th all-time for French players.
