The penultimate week of the NFL Regular Season is over. NFL Week 17 is in the history books and we now look forward to the final week of the season!

Several teams assured themselves of a spot in the playoffs this past week, but for many others, the quest will go down to the final game of the season!

What a week is in store in the AFC South where the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans are all tied on the same 9-7 record, with the Colts and Texans facing off against each other while the Jags take on divisional rivals, the Titans.

NFL Week 15
Raiders decimated the Chargers

It is equally tight in the NFC South, where the Buccaneers and Saints (8-8) as well as the Falcons (7-9) are all still in with a chance of the playoffs, while in the AFC North, the Packers and Vikings are battling it out for a Wildcard spot along with the NFC South teams and the Seattle Seahawks.

We now have nine teams confirmed as qualified for the playoffs, four in the AFC, five in the NFC, which means there are five spots still open and a total of 11 teams battling it out over this weekend for one of those prized spots.

Just a quick reminder that this week will be your last chance to enjoy regular season NFL betting at bet365 Sport.

NFL Week 17 Three Notable Performances – Team

  • Bills Battle To Crucial Win Over Pats To Set Up Dolphins Showdown

Five weeks ago, the Buffalo Bills looked dead and buried. With a 5-6 record and an incredibly tough run of games, few gave them a chance of the playoffs. Five massive wins later, they are the team that nobody wants to meet in the AFC outside of the top seed Ravens. Josh Allen is leading his team by example and they are winning the games that they would have lost earlier in the season. If they beat the Dolphins next week, they could even top their division.

  • Lamar-vellous Ravens Absolutely Dominant Over Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens destroyed the Miami Dolphins in a match between the top two seeds in the AFC. Lamar Jackson produced a near flawless display, throwing for five touchdowns as the Ravens racked up over 50 points against a team ranked second in their conference. For the Dolphins, this was a sobering defeat and they now must regroup ahead of their game with the Bills on the final weekend.

  • Cowboys’ Defense Holds Out Against Lions For Crucial NFC East Win

In a back-and-forth game between two of the better NFC teams, it was the Dallas Cowboys that snatched a single-point victory over the Detroit Lions, thanks to their defence. After scoring the touchdown to move them just a point behind the Cowboys, the Lions went for two. They scored on their first attempt, only to have it ruled out due to a penalty by the offense. They missed their second, but a penalty on Dallas gave them a third attempt. This time the Cowboys defense held firm without committing a penalty to snatch the win and put them top of the NFC East.

NFL Week 17 Worst Three Performances – Team

  • Panthers Confirm Number 1 Draft Pick…For The 7-9 Chicago Bears

Despite trading for the number 1 pick last year, paying a pretty penny for the privilege, the Carolina Panthers end the season with the worst record in the NFL and the number 1 pick in the 2024 Draft, Only they won’t have it, having traded it to the 7-9 Chicago Bears. With their owner now being investigated for throwing a drink at a Jaguars fan, the sooner this season ends for the Panthers the better.

  • Eagles Dismal Form Continues As Cardinals Snatch Victory in Philly

It wasn’t too long ago that the Eagles were unbeaten, but they have now lost five of their last seven games and the latest defeat was a surprise home loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Eagles fans fears earlier in the season that their team was winning but not playing well, have been proved right. The defense has fallen apart allowing over 30 points several times in recent times meaning the Eagles, while in the playoffs, will not head into them with any degree of confidence.

  • Titans Slump To Heavy Loss To Divisional Rival Texans

The Colts and Jaguars were hoping the Titans could do them a favour against the Texans, but in the end Houston were easy winners as they held the Titans to a field goal. Tennessee’s woes on offense continue and a massive rebuild in the summer looks on the cards with the likes of Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill set to leave as free agents, freeing up plenty of cap space. On this performance, the are going to need it.

NFL Week 17 Three Notable Performances – Individual

  • WR Davante Adams (Raiders) – 13 receptions for 126 yards and 2 TDs.
  • WR CeeDee Lamb (Cowboys) – 13 receptions for 227 yards and 1 TD
  • CB Rasul Douglas (Bills) – 1 tackle, 1 assist, 2 interceptions (one returned for a TD), 3 passes defensed.

Performers of the Week – NFL Week 17

  • Team – Baltimore Ravens
  • Offensive Player – Lamar Jackson (Ravens) – 18/21 for 321 yards and 5 TDs. 6 rushes for 35 yards.
  • Defensive Player – Sione Takitaki (Browns) – 11 tackles, 5 assists, 1 pass defensed.
  • Special Teams Player – Jalen Reagor (Patriots) – 2 returns, 60 yards, 1TD, 1 catch for 39 yards
  • Rookie – Will Anderson Jr. (Texans) – 2 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss.
