Halloween is on the horizon and we’ve already looked at some creepy additions to your home poker game, and some links between ghosts and ghouls and the sporting scene.
But did you know that there are plenty of other links between the 31st October and sports?
Not one to miss out on any opportunity to cash in, the sporting goods and memorabilia markets are often awash with Halloween-themed items for sale.
Some of these are fantastic; others not quite so good. And a few are just nonsensical!
But before we take a look at what spooky sports gear you can buy, remember Halloween is still a sporting day around the world and as such, there’s still plenty of great options for you to bet on at bet365 Sport.

Alternatively, if you have a bit of spare cash and are looking for the perfect Halloween-themed sporting buy, then why not have a look at some of these spook-tacular items!
Give yourself the perfect look for a round on Halloween, or indeed any time of the year, with this eye-catching Skeleton Golf Glove, from Asher Golf.
Made from Cabretta learger, it is available for both left and right hands (or do a Boo Weekly and get one for each hand), with small, medium, medium-large, large and extra large fits available.
I have actually used one of these gloves and its breathable holes on the fingers and secure fit made it comfortable to wear.
You can buy a three pack of these gloves for £52.
What a fantastic shirt this is. You don’t have to be a fan of Napoli to enjoy this classic black away shirt.
With the Skull logo interwoven in dark grey into the black fabric, it’s Halloween links are obvious and it looks sensational.
Admittedly, it is very much an item that customers will either love or hate. But judging by how quickly the shirt is flying off the shelves, it seems to be the former rather than the latter.
One important thing to note is that this shirt is a slim fit design, so it is advisable to purchase one size above your usual shirt size.
Sizes available range from small to XXL.
Do you remember Usain Bolt’s famous ‘dab’ celebration whenever he wiped the floor with other athletes in the sprints?
Well, I stumbled across this rather fetching monsters “dab” scene which you can buy from the excellently named Grumpy Gorillaz shop on Etsy.
You can buy this particular design for adults or juniors on T-shirts, Sweatshirts or Hoodies, the latter sounding like a good purchase for those cool Halloween evenings in the UK.
Prices range from just £8.99 for the simplest options, up to £32.24, although it should be noted that these are sales prices and the price has been discounted by 25%.
You can pick from a range of different sizes with Hoodies and Sweatshirts available from Small to 2XL in adult sizes and from age 5-6 to 12-13 in kids sizes (including T-shirts). Adult T-shirts are available from size small to 5xl.
The t-shirts are cotton and cotton blend and are handmade in the UK.
Some might say that American Football is a bit scary as it is, what with all those tackles flying in, player concussions, gruesome injuries and the like.
But now you can make it even scarier for Halloween with this Zombie Football Player costume.
Available from size small to 3XL for men, as well as a range of junior sizes too, this blood-spattered grey football shirt and white shorts will certainly add to the atmosphere when trick or treating.
Want to complete the look? Well, you can also pick up this American Football Red Helmet for adults for £9.99 and an inflatable American Football for £4.99.
One of the cheaper Halloween themed items are these spooky darts flights which you can buy for just £1.68 (plus package and posting) from Temu UK.
Although you can buy all of the five designs separately, I like this mix pack which features three flights of each of the five different designs.
This includes a red/black skull, a black/white skull, a red/black spider, a yellow/black spider on a web and lastly a Skull with a tongue hanging out wearing a headdress (I know, that is a bit of a weird one!).
Temu has a reputation of being a very cheap site, but also one of somewhat dubious quality of items at time, but for £1.68, you can’t really go wrong if you are a devilish darts fan!
It’s tricky finding something sporty and suitable for women at Halloween. Most costume designers tend to think men want to look scary, while women want to look sexy with their costumes.
That tends to make such costumes a tad impractical for female sports fans, but fortunately there are some more sensible Halloween-themed items for ladies.
One option is this range of Halloween-inspired Yoga pants from Belsen. With seven options to pick from, the pants are available in sizes from small to extra-large.
Certainly, the weirdest and most terrifying item on this list is also one that has been designed clearly with Halloween at the very back of the mind.
What we have here is an actual casket for you to keep the ashes in of a loved one, pet or similar. Furthermore, you can get the name, date and age of the deceased engraved onto the lid at no extra cost.
The link to sports? Well, the casket is decorated in the style of a snooker table, with a variety of snooker pictures on the panels of the box.
Crazy? You bet it is. For me, the biggest irony is that on this list the most terrifying Halloween-themed item of all for sports fans, is not designed for use on Halloween!
So whatever you do this Halloween, sports related or not, have a safe and enjoyable evening!
